What I know to be true…
May 15, 2008 | | 2 Comments
What I know to be true is that people can achive happiness by just being themselves. A lot of people, mostly teenagers, feel lonley sometimes and out of place and just want to fit in. The only way to make them feel happy is to be what other’s want them to be. But what they don’t know is that they are actually still lonley and are just making it worse by living a lie. One of those people was me.
When I moved to Snow Lake, for the second time, I was really, really not looking forward to it. The last time I was here I was getting teased, hated and ignored a lot and just couldn’t stand it no more so I became a trouble maker in my new school in Birch River. I woud always be in detention with my friend, Michelle, and made a lot of people mad. I was having fun but after a while I began to feel lonley and confused. My thoughts were tangled.
In the summer in Snow Lake, I spent most of my time at home to avoide meeting other people. But one day I came to the beach and met a kid there. His name was Micheal. I didn’t know anything about him and I was afraid he was going to be like the others I met before. But to my surprise, he was an alright guy. We hung out a lot, played videogames and became really good friends. When school was coming up I was starting to feel really mad and remebered m last time here… Then I just kind of stopped hanging out with Micheal and stayed at home. I was kind of scared to go back to school here. I didn’t want to go back there, I really didn’t.
Surprisingly, to this day, I’m still here and actually enjoy it. After a year here I totally forgot about last time and I’m really glad to live here. I finally found out why I didn’t fit in before. I tried to act like the “cool” kids before and ended up not fitting in. I pretended to be like them and lied to everyone and myself and that caused me lose control and become the opposite of what I wanted to be. Now I finally know who I am by realizing that I love to help people. When ever someone is down I’m always there to cheer them up. It’s diffacult sometimes to find the inner you and you can end up lost doing so. I found that out the hard way. Now I know that the truth is you, the real you, and you should always be yourself, and not what people want you to be.
*What is truth to you?*

Spring break and Summer vacation plans
March 4, 2008 | | 3 Comments
Hi bloggers
Spring break, as you know it, is coming up shortly and for a change I actually have plans this time. Me, my sister and my parents are going to be taking a plane to
Alberta to visit my Uncle. It will be pretty fun. Other than that, me and my friends Brandon and Darren are going to be hanging out and have a big game fest. My buddy
Brandon, as you might of read from his blog, has been waiting FOREVER for a game to come out called Super Smash Bros. Brawl. We will just be hanging out at Darren’s and playing SSBB and Unreal Tournament all night with junk food and pop and candy and it’s just wow! It’s just awesome!
Guess I got some stuff to do during Spring break. I wonder what will happen during summer vacation.
Summer vacation is always a long time… a long time to party and have fun! I am probably going to do what I always do each summer and go visit my relatives in
Winnipeg. But after that I just seem to laze around the house with nothing to do. I will be swimming a lot more this summer though. I love to swim! Another thing I will do this summer is find a job for me, but it will depend on what happens. I need to save up my money if I want to go to the West Edmonton Mall ever! I hear it’s a really fun place to go to with a lot of stuff to do. That probably ends my plans.
There you go. I told you my plans and now I got to go. Until next time again, see ya!

Science Fair fun! That’s a first…
February 29, 2008 | | 2 Comments
In the last 2 weeks we have been preparing and thinking up projects for our school Science Fair. This year, me and my buddy, Dustin, decided to be partners and come up with a wicked cool idea. As we were looking through a book of project ideas, we came across a project that would blow your mind! We decided that we should make our own glue and see if it can beat today’s glue. We called it… Moo glue! Yeah, I know, it’s genius.
To test it, we made two bridges made of popsicle sticks, one bridge using Moo glue and one using Carpenters glue. We then got soup cans and placed them on top of the bridges. This was to see which bridge could hold the most without breaking thus proving if Moo glue can beat today’s glue. In the end, and to our surprise, our Moo glue bridge was actually stronger! N-not that we had any doubt in our project, we knew it was going to work.
Though we didn’t win the Science Fair it was pretty fun to do it anyways… I wouldn’t want to do it again though, it’s really boring… Well that’s all the time I have for now. Until next time, See ya! Keep blogging!
Oh, and check out my friends blogs to see what they did for the Science Fair as well.
Bye!-

“Outsiders Reflection Project” take one!
December 18, 2007 | | 2 Comments
The Book
Here in Mr. Fisher’s class, we read “The Outsiders” and have been doing a project on it with the kids in Los Angeles. Not long ago, we finished it and now move on to the next, final, project. Basically now, all we are doing now is dumping all that we learned, read, and did for the Outsiders into one big post! Now let’s start.
The main characters of the book would be Ponyboy, Darry, Dally, Soda, Johnny and Cherry. These kids are important for the reason that they teach us the lessons, explore the book and live through the events that strike them. Ponyboy and Johnny, I say, are the kids that experience the story the most facing fear, death and sadness through out the book.
These things are created by the events of this book. Darry hitting Ponyboy took a big impact in the story because if Darry hadn’t done it then Ponyboy and Johnny wouldn’t have met with the Socs and ran away. The next big event is the burning of the church. When Johnny, Ponyboy and Dally came back to the church, they saw that the church had caught on fire. The bad news was still to bear because there were also kids trapped inside the church. Ponyboy and Johnny instantly took control and rushed into the fiery building. This turn of event made them heroes but it also took the life of Johnny and Dally.
The Movie
The movie was pretty much exactly like the book but missed some events. The most important event that was missed is after the death of Johnny and Dally. Ponyboy was to devastated by these events and claimed that Johnny didn’t die. He was having a hard time at school, home and seemed to forget where he put his shoes sometimes. Days after, Ponyboy found the letter that Johnny had written in the book, “Gone with the Wind”, before he died. This made Ponyboy come to sense and knew that Johnny was dead and nothing could bring him back. But he was okay with that. Ponyboy then figured out what he was to do for his LA project. A story about the life of a poor kid living through the dangers and surprises of life. He called this book “The Outsiders”. This was the ending of the book that started a new life for Ponyboy and the gang. To me I say that reading the book is better then watching the movie.
The Project
Working with Ali and Wendy was fun. We did run into some troubles though mainly with our communication but we worked that out eventually. They had really good ideas with preparing our info and what we were going to do. They are also great workers though they were barely on the wikispaces page to edit it. With the project itself, we didn’t really talk about an account for voicethread.com so they made one and I did too so I had to move to theirs but luckily I didn’t put much on mine so it wasn’t a big deal. The project turned out well but it was a little late because I didn’t send a short script to Ali. But I talked to them afterwards and said I would do it for them and finish it. If I had to do another project like this, I would be glad to have Ali and Wendy as partners again.

Oh no, the last chapters! Chapter 11 & 12!
November 16, 2007 | | 2 Comments
Here it is people. The last chapters. What’s going to happen? What new challenges are they going to have to face?… Only one way to find out. Stay tuned…
Ponyboy stays in bed for weeks. He passes the time drawing, reading and looking in Soda’s yearbook. Randy comes over to visit and check up on Ponyboy. He reminds Ponyboy that he has to go to trial tomorrow to explain what happened on the night of Bob’s death. Randy feels sorry for hurting his parents by getting in trouble. Ponyboy told Randy that his parents have died and that he could be taken away from Soda and Darry. Randy is shocked. He didn’t realize that Ponyboy’s life was so bad… Randy tells him there is no reason for him to get in trouble but Ponyboy says “I had the knife. I killed Bob.” Ponyboy also insists that Johnny isn’t dead. Just then, Darry comes home. Ponyboy hears him whispering to Randy saying “The doctor says Ponyboy is still very upset. He needs time to get over the killings…”
At the trial, Ponyboy decides to say that he murdered Bob instead of Johnny but to his surprise the judge dosen’t ask many questions. After the questions, he tells Ponyboy that he is free to go. After that Ponyboy’s life is greatly affected by his sadness, confusion and anger. He dose bad in school, he barly eats and he can’t even keep track on where his shoes are. Soda berly talks to him. Ponyboy dosen’t know why though so he just lets it go. Then when Darry and Pony got into a fight Soda ran off dropping a letter, from his girlfriend, unopened. The letter says that his girlfriend wasen’t pragnet with Soda. She didn’t love him that way. Ponyboy feeling bad about that gose out to find Soda.
Later that night, Ponyboy picks up the copy of “Gone with the Wind”. He flips through the pages and finds that there is a note from Johnny in it. It says keep looking at the sunset, and tell Dally to look at one too. Johnny wrote that his death was worth while, he saved those kids. He also writes that Ponyboy dosen’t have to be a greaser forever, he can be whatever he wants. After reading the note, Ponyboy realizes that he isn’t the only one with problems. Other boys across the world feel hopeless, scared, angry and violent. Ponyboy decides to write his essay for English class about what has happened to him and his friends over the past week. The story ends up as the book The Outsiders…
Wow! That was a really good endding… Kind of (sniff) made me wanna cry. Hahaha. Well Survivel best tells these chapters. The gang, exspeacailly Ponyboy, had to live without Johnny and Dally feeling depressed and sad. But they live with it anyways knowing they with live on. Well thats it for me. See ya!

You wanted it, now you got it! Chapters 9 & 10!
November 9, 2007 | | 2 Comments
Oh no! Johnny! Don’t know what’s on? Well if you want to know keep reading…
Ponyboy and the gang get ready for a Rumble with the Socs but Ponyboy hates the idea of fighting. He wants everyone to be friends but he still begs Darry to let him fight. As everyone gets there, Ponyboy looks around at the gang. He thinks “No wonder why the Socs don’t get in trouble. They dress like they are going to the movies while we dress up like thugs and criminals.” When the Socs arrive, Darry steps forward and asks if they can start the fight. That’s when a boy came up and just looked at Darry with hatred. Why was that? Was it just because he is a Greaser?
The fight between the two gangs rage on. The Greasers get beaten up badly but win the fight. Right after it’s over, Dally shows up and tells Ponyboy to go visit Johnny at the hospital. As they walk to the hospital Dally changed his mind saying that Johnny just should of gotten tough like him. When they arrive at the hospital, Johnny’s last words were “Stay Gold”, as in the poem from “Gone with the Wind”. The he dies. Dally is in a upset rage. Crying and punching the walls then just leaving the hospital…
Ponyboy gets home and tells everyone that Johnny is dead. Just then he gets a phone call from Dally. He had just robbed a grocery store and the cops are chasing him. The gang gets to the vacant lot to find Dally and the police there. Dally pulls out a gun. It was the gun that Dally told Ponyboy it wasn’t loaded but the police didn’t know that. So they shot him, killing him. Ponyboy realized that that’s what he wanted… Ponyboy faints.
Oh man… Johnny AND Dally are dead… I guess Dally was so upset because Johnny was like a younger brother. He loved him very much. So he must of wanted to die maybe to be with Johnny.
Fear really explains these chapter. The fear of fighting the Socs. The fear of wondering if Johnny will be ok. And also the fear of Dally dieing. There is a lot of emotion in these chapters. Bringing out a lot about the book. Time to go now. See ya!

Here it comes! Chapters 7 & 8!
November 8, 2007 | | 1 Comment
Uh oh! What’s going to happen in these chapters? Stay tuned everyone!
Darry and Soda are waiting in the hospital to see how Dally and Johnny are doing. The boys finally see the doctor. The doctor told them that Dally has only been burnt a will be better in a few weeks. But Johnny… Johnny is hurt really badly. He broke his back from the fire and possible might die. This made them want to cry but Greasers don’t cry in front of strangers.
The next morning Ponyboy makes breakfast and gets a visit by Steve and Two-bit. They tease him about his hair but Ponyboy doesn’t mind. They also tell him that the papers are calling him a hero. Cherry and Randy, Bob’s friend, both support the Greasers and tell everyone that Johnny killed Bob in self-defense. Ponyboy then asks Soda about his girl friend. It goes silent. Steve explains to his that Sandy got pregnant and has to go live with her grandparents because they don’t want her to marry Soda. Poor Soda…
Now it gets worse… Two-bit and Ponyboy go to the hospital to see Johnny but a nurse says that they can’t but the doctor lets them. “Let them go in. He’s been asking for them. It can’t hurt now.” Ponyboy knew then and now that Johnny was going to die. Ponyboy stays with Johnny to tell him that there is nothing to be scared of. Johnny then tells him “I wouldn’t mind it so much if there wasn’t so much stuff I ain’t done yet and so many things I ain’t seen. It’s not fair.”…
Friendship is the big word that describes these chapters. Darry and Soda going to see how Dally and Johnny are doing. Cherry and Randy supporting Ponyboy and Johnny. And also how Ponyboy is staying with his best friend Johnny telling him it’s all right and he’s going to be fine. But it’s probable the end for Johnny… That shows that friendship is going all around. The Socs and the Greasers are cooperating together while Ponyboy and the gangs are wishing Johnny survives. I hope he dose too.
Oh man! I want to know what happens next! Well time to go. See ya!

Chapter 5 & 6! Check it out!
November 5, 2007 | | Leave a Comment
Now these two are really thrilling chapters. Lets read shall we!
Ponyboy and Johnny have been threw alot now while in the church. Cherry is acting as a spy for the greasers which shocks Ponyboy and Johnny. They then figure out that Bob is the Soc guy Johnny killed and had been Cherry’s boyfriend. Dally informs them that Cherry has said that she is willing to testify the Socs were drunk and were trying to drown Ponyboy so as a act of defence Johnny stabbed Bob.
Cherry’s help towards Johnny get him to announces that he is going to turn himself in to the police and try to cooperate. Dally objects to this plan but Johnny insists.
Now there is one word that is shown greatly in these pieces.
Bravery
Johnny is turning himself in so there is no problems between the Greasers, the Socs and the whole city. Accepting the punishments that he may get. This is another reason why Johnny is my favorite character.
Well thats about it for me. Time to log off. See ya!

Drum roll please! Chapter 3 & 4!
November 1, 2007 | | Leave a Comment
Ah! Welcome back readers. Today I’m gonna be writing about chapters 3 and 4, ok? Ok, Let’s get a move on!
(Short form) Darry hit Ponyboy so Ponyboy ran away with Johnny. They got to a vacant lot and some Socs tried to drown Ponyboy in a fountain so Johnny stab a Soc and killed him. They meet up with Dally and got 50 bucks and a gun from him. They left town to an abandoned church in some town. Now they stay there wondering if everything is going to be ok…
Ok, there you have it. That was quick. Now to ask you some questions.
In the book, who is your favorite character?
Why that character?
What do you think will happen to Johnny and Ponyboy?
Maybe I should answer these questions too
My favorite character would have to be Johnny. Johnny is a reliable friend. He didn’t ask any questions when Ponyboy told him to follow when they were running away. He just understood. He is also a very important character in the gang. He has a really terrible life at home but he always seems to be happy when he is around his friends, mainly Ponyboy and Dally. And to what will happen to Ponyboy and Johnny, I think they are going to realize that they are not going to be able to stay there any longer. They are also probable missed dearly and the Gang wants them to come home. But I wonder… what bumps in the road are they going to go through while staying there? What will happen to them?
Well that’s about all the time I have for now. See ya!
